Today Jojo draws Guardian (or Major Mapleleaf).
Since Jojo drew Captain Britain as a lumpy, bowler hat-wearing, tea lover, I thought it would be fun to see her take on Guardian. He’s the leader of Alpha Flight, Canada’s premier (only) super hero team and he’s basically Captain Canada.
Jojo drew a muscle-bound Mountie with moose antlers and a beaver sidekick. He doesn’t look anything like Guardian (who is supposed to look more like a Canadian gymnast). He DOES look a lot like Major Mapleleaf, a lesser known Canadian answer to Captain America.
Really though, that’s only because Major Mapleleaf looks like a regular Mountie. That’d be like if there was a guy named Admiral America who looked like a beat cop.
Well, this is the most accurate anthropomorphized picture of Canada that has ever existed.
Woman Proposes to Her Girlfriend During Hockey Game, Hearts Melt
Hockey is not generally known for producing heart-warming moments, but there was a notable exception at yesterday’s game between the Ottawa Senators and Toronto Maple Leafs. During a break in play, Alicia was brought out on the ice where her girlfriend Christina surprised her with a proposal and impressively managed to do the whole thing without falling down. Even though Christina is a Senators fan and Alicia was rooting for the Maple Leafs, Alicia said yes—as the mascot helpfully informed us with his sign—and the crowd went wild. Looks like there is yet another benefit to legalizing same-sex marriage: even more sports game proposals. Everybody wins.
What is more Canadian then getting gay-engaged on the ice during a Leafs-Sens game? NOTHING.

Conservative majority. I am literally in tears and completely inconsolable. I didn’t even care about the majority if my MP won and he lost to a douchebag littering the town with coalition fear mongering.
I actually had serious hopes of my MP being PM one day.
I’m going to need the following:
- a LOT of alcohol
- pretty graphics
- The Good Wife to fucking kill it tomorrow, ie give me some quality Alicia/Kalinda scenes and some quality Patti Nyholm and some quality Diane Lockhart. BRING IT SHOW, YOU ARE ALL I HAVE LEFT
