30 DAYS OF ONCE UPON A TIMEDay 01 - An Episode You Would Use to Get People Hooked: 1.03 Snow Falls

Perfect episode. Perfect way to introduce well known characters in an interesting way. Perfect way to make you fall in love with them.

the-silence-in-between:

Awesome conversation is awesome.

Also, is it just me, or does Regina look… off in this scene?  It’s like, she looks more like Lana and less like Regina, if that makes any sense at all.  Does that make any sense at all?  Am I imagining things here?

I actually commented to heartsways tonight that she looked like Lana in this scene. Nearly bare lips, by Regina standards, and a very open face. She looked open and honest, like she genuinely liked David. But that can’t be right, can it?

TOP CHARACTERS OF 2011: David Nolan, Once Upon a TimeI admit my love of David Nolan is based a lot more on what I want him to be than anything. We’ve been shown very little of him. But what we have seen is that he is incredibly kind and incredibly honourable. When he regained his memories in Gold’s shop he felt the right thing to do was to at least attempt to reconcile with his wife, likely because of his own sense of duty and her sad desperation that he love her again, as her memories dictate he once did.In a town populated by a lot of rather selfish and unkind heroes I found that David stood out. In future episodes I want to see him interact more with the rest of the town. I want him to be Clark Kent, the one capable of seeing good in everyone (even the bad ones) and believing in redemption. I’d love to see him interact more with Regina, maybe bring out another side of her beyond camp evil. I just think David has so much potential in the way he sees the town slightly differently. And I do hope he gets developed beyond ‘the love interest’.

officerscherhotsky asked for Once Upon a TimeMy favourite ship: Emma/Regina, obviously. And it doesn’t even have to be romantically. I just want them to have scenes together. I think they have a surprisingly good chemistry. They’re excellent adversaries and even better as reluctant allies; all of that is incredibly fascinating to me. I could probably write several more paragraphs delving into the facets of their personalities and character traits and where I want their relationship to progress to on the show, but I will save your dashboards. My least favourite ship: Ruby/Gold? I’ve seen it around a lot and it’s not that it’s actually my least favourite (I don’t really have one), it’s just one I don’t quite understand. My favourite character: Okay, this is difficult because Regina is obviously my favourite character but I also have a great love for David Nolan. Regina is so complex; she’s the same person as the Evil Queen yet so different. She’s much more emotional and has taken a surprisingly passive stance on Emma - I would have either killed her or ripped out her heart by now. I think that Storybrooke has smoothed off some of her edges and given her the freedom to love again rather than be in so much pain she has to burn everything down just to get a modicum of satisfaction. On the other hand, my bb David (which, yes is what I call him all the time now) is pure. He believes in happiness and love and doing the right thing. He genuinely cares about people, even Regina. I want him to befriend her and have her genuinely like him even though she doesn’t want to, throwing a wrench in her evil plans. Basically I just want more scenes where David is a beautiful Clark Kent who does the right thing and thinks everyone is capable of redemption. FEELINGS. ALL OF MY FEELINGS TO THESE TWO.My least favourite character: Archie. Fucking. Hopper. I hate that douche so much. I’ve already ranted about him. I like my ‘good guys’ good and not making morally and legally wrong threats which are supposed to be cheered just because he’s threatening the ‘bad guy’. But Henry is a pretty close second.

ONCE UPON A TIME SET & COSTUME DESIGN: Set designer, let me love you. That’s Regina’s office, Mary Margaret’s classroom, and Granny’s diner, all with the same design of white with black/grey trees.
I find it very interesting that all three rooms have such a similar motif.
